- Penghu has an abundance of natural cultural assets, such as the magnificent basalts and stone weirs that stood testament to the history and social life of Penghu. They are all of great importance and are in need of urgent preservation; they are also worthy to be listed as World Heritage sites.
This exhibition looked at other world heritage sites in order to assess the potential for world heritage sites in Taiwan and to enable a further understanding of Penghu's cultural assets. This would foster a better preservation awareness of natural and cultural assets from the general public. At the same time, the inventory check of Penghu's cultural assets would awaken the historic memories of the general public to re-assess their relationships with their living environment.
